YEREVAN, 27 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. On January 27, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Galust Sahakyan received the delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif. Greeting the guest in parliament, Galust Sahakyan voiced hope that during the visit, the minister would have the opportunity to not only discuss a broad range of issues with state officials, but to also become familiar with Armenia’s historical and cultural heritage and national customs and traditions. Touching upon Armenian-Iranian relations, Sahakyan attached importance to the development of the mutually beneficial cooperation in all sectors.

 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and praised the role of the Speaker of the National Assembly in the development of Armenian-Iranian relations. The minister mentioned that further development and deepening of relations with Armenia is one of the Iranian government’s priorities.
