Samuel Sevian wins Saint Louis Chess Tournament

YEREVAN, 25 NOVEMBER, ARMENPRESS. Samuel Sevian won the championship title in the next to last round of the Saint Louis Championship.

Grosmeister Samuel Sevian (USA) tied the match in the seventh round of the round-robin tournament with his coach, international master Andranik Matikozyan (Armenia) and won international chess master Ashvin Jayaram (India) in the eighth round, which was the next to last tournament, as Armchess reports to “ArmenPress”. Sevian scored 7 out of the 8 points and, regardless of the results of the last round, won first place since his opponent, Sammy Shoker (Egypt) was behind the 13-year old Armenian chess player by two points.
