Agriculture Minister hosts Brazil-based Armenian businessman

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS: The Armenia’s Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan received on Friday, September 26, Brazil-based Armenian businessman Sargis Karamekian. The Department for Public Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia informed Armenpress that the sides discussed the expansion of bilateral trade and economic ties and cooperation.

Mr. Karamekian informed Minister Sergo Karapetyan that the Brazil-Armenia Chamber of Commerce established in São Paulo is interested in importing Armenian agricultural produce to Brazil. During his stay in Armenia Mr. Karamekian has made sure that many products manufactures in Armenia can enter the Brazilian market. 

Minister Karapetyan proposed that Mr. Karamekian organize an Armenian-Brazilian business forum in São Paulo, which would enable the Armenian and Brazilian business communities to raise awareness of food products manufactured in Armenia and Brazil and strengthen their business contacts.

“Armenia can export wines, juices, canned food to Brazil. I am sure Armenian products will be of great interest to the Brazilian market,” Mr. Karapetyan said. 

The minister pointed out the advisability of drafting a bilateral cooperation agreement.
