Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group to participate in independence celebration

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS: The members of Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group, led by the Deputy of Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Chairperson of the Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group Dalia Kuodite, will visit Stepanakert on September 1. They will meet with the President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly Ashot Ghulyan and other high-ranking officials. Besides the official meetings, the Lithuanian guests will take part in the festive events devoted to the 23rd anniversary of the independence of Karabakh on September 2 in the Square of Stepanakert.
“This visit is quite important from the point of view of both, the development of the bilateral relations and the international recognition of the Artsakh independence. Then the guests will meet the President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, the Speaker and the deputies of the National Assembly and other high-ranking officials. There is a wide range of subjects to be discussed and we hope for a deeper friendship and cooperation with Lithuania”, - said David Babayan, the Spokesperson of thePresident of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan, Armenpress reports.
On August 30 the members of Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group, led by the Deputy of Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Chairperson of the Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group Dalia Kuodite, arrived in Yerevan. They were hosted by the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov. The members of Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group, led by the Deputy of Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Chairperson of the Lithuania-Karabakh friendship group Dalia Kuodite, visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial and paid tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims. Dalia Kuodite told Armenpress that during the visit to Stepanakert they will discuss programs of further cooperation and future projects.
