Turks promise to restore Cathedral of Ani

YEREVAN, AUGUST 28, ARMENPRESS. The excavations in the Armenian historical capital Ani made by the Turkish research centers this year have been completed. Armenpress reports that the governor of Kars Günay Özdemir informed Turkish “Haberler” news site about it.
He said that the excavations will continue next year as well. According to Günay Özdemir, after the completion of the excavations (the date is not mentioned) they will begin the reconstruction of "city of a thousand and one churches" Cathedral of Ani. The monuments council of Turkey has already signed the draft upon it.
