The New York Times reporter to write book about Robin Williams

YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS. New York Times cultural reporter Dave Itzkoff, who has written extensively about Robin Williams, is working on a book about the late actor-comedian, reports “Armenpress”, in reference to USA TODAY.

The book is currently untitled. No publication date has been set, but the biography was acquired by Henry Holt and Co.

In a press release, Itzkoff said that Williams was a “cultural hero” of his and “in the encounters and interactions I was able to share with him, he was always gentle and generous, humane and thoughtful and hilarious. I’m grateful for the opportunity to tell his story.”

Williams was the manic superstar of the sitcom Mork and Mindy and later won an Oscar for his work in Good Will Hunting. He committed suicide at age 63. His body was found in his Northern California home on Aug. 11.

Itzkoff's books include Mad as Hell: The Making of Network and the Fateful Vision of the Angriest Man in Movies, which was published this year.
