About one dozen Armenian passenger cars and trucks stuck in Upper Lars

YEREVAN, AUGUST 22, ARMENPRESS. After the landslide on Upper Lars - Kazbegi road the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Rostov urges all to avoid driving on that road. The Advisor to the Consulate General in Rostov Arman Aghajanyan noted that the situation on the spot is satisfying, tents, bio toilets are placed for the people, they are also supplied with food and basic necessities. "According to preliminary information, reported from the General Department of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, the highway will be closed for 10-15 days," as reports "Armenpress", said Aghajanyan. He said that at this point there is some accumulation of trucks, as well as about a dozen passenger cars.

On August 21 landslide occurred in Georgia’s Darial Gorge. According to preliminary information, there are no victims. According to the deputy head of the administration of the Kazbegi Municipality Givi Kirikashvili the landslide came down in the same place where it was in May. The pipeline supplying Armenia with Russian gas was damaged by a mudslide that blocked the road in the Darial Gorge. The mudslide blocked the Georgian Military Road and damaged the North Caucasus – Trans-Caucasus gas pipeline connecting Russia and Armenia. Gas supply for the consumers of the Republic of Armenia will be carried out by "Gazprom Armenia" CJSC from stockpiles, without restrictions.
