YEREVAN, AUGUST 1, ARMENPRESS.  The soldier of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army Norayr Kamalyan displayed an unarmed resistance to a group of Azerbaijani special unit forces and made them flee. “Armenpress” was informed about this from the Department of Information and Public Relations of the NKR Defense Ministry.

The servicemen of the Armenian army prove with their own deeds to be worthy of the heroes of the Artsakh heroic battle. During the July 31 attack of the rival on the military positions of one of the military units located in the northern direction of the line of contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing armies, private Norayr M. Kamalyan, being completely unarmed, managed to confuse the Azerbaijani group - armed to the teeth, and throw them back.  Caught in the fire zone of the enemy, Kamalyan attacked them and started to fight with the fists. At that time he sustained an injury but did not give up fighting. Kamalyan took away a large number of enemy weapons and made them flee.

Kamalyan is now under the supervision of doctors. His health condition is assessed as average stable. The doctors assure that he will recover soon and will be able to rejoin the army.
