YEREVAN, JUNE 24, ARMENPRESS. Founder of the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks Julian Assange has been honored the best in investigative journalism for 2014 by the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, reports “Armenpress”, referring to Interfax.

The union said on its website that it had decided to give this award to Assange following a journalism contest held by Kazakhstan.

A number of Kazakh journalists received this year's awards from the union as well.

"We annually nominate journalists at a premium. This year was awarded the title of laureate dozens of media representatives. And the decision of the Union of Journalists award in the category" Investigative Journalism "we decided to assign Julian Assange.
