Armenian side raises issues on barriers to peace at NATO seminar in Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, JUNE 16, ARMENPRESS. The Head of Armenia’s NA delegation of NATO Parliamentary Assembly Koryun Nahapetyan introduced Armenpress the issues raised by the Armenian side at Rose-Roth seminar ongoing in Azerbaijan. According to him, the discussions are held in hot environment. The focus is the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. “Our discussion is focused on the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh. The delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia clearly introduced its position on that issue, in particular, noting that Nagorno-Karabakh has never been within independent Azerbaijan. The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic was proclaimed in the result of the   peoples’ right for self-determination which fully complied with the fundamental principles and norms of international right. We also noted that the settlement of the conflict is possible in the result of direct involvement of Nagorno-Karabakh in that process,” Koryun Nahapetyan said.

“At the course of the discussions mainly the delegates of Armenia and Azerbaijan are active, the other delegates of the Parliamentary Assembly do not have great interest in the discussions and react rarely,” Koryun Nahapetyan stated.
