Kessab-Armenians in Latakia packing things to go back home

YEREVAN, JUNE 16, ARMENPRESS. The Syrian-Armenians, who were forcefully displaced from Kessab and settled in Latakia, are enthusiastic about the news on liberation of Kessab and they are getting ready to go back home. The Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan stated this in a conversation with “Armenpress”. Among other things, the Minister of Diaspora noted: “I had a conversation with the Mayor of Kessab Vazgen Chaparian yesterday. He is very enthusiastic. They had been in Kessab. Certainly, there were some losses recorded, but generally the situation is more tolerable. Currently, the de-mining of the territory is in process.”

Responding the question on the next step of the Armenians, what aid should be provided to our compatriots from Kessab, the Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan noted that first of all they must assess the situation, what the needs of each family are, and determine the character of the aid basing on this information.
