Armenian community of Iraq's Basra ready to host Armenian refugees from Mosul

YEREVAN, JUNE 11, ARMENPRESS. The administrative committee of the Armenian community of Iraq’s Basra announced that they are ready to host the Armenian families, which fled from Mosul. As reports “Armenpress”, the Facebook page of the Barsa church stated this. Dozens of Armenian families have left Mosul after the deterioration of the situation in the city. The source states that the Armenian committee, the Armenian Church in Barsa, as well as the members of the Barsa community are ready to host the Armenian families and safeguard their security and conveniences.

Previously it was reported that 65 Armenian families left the Mosul region in Iraq. The source informs that Paruyr Hakobyan who is among the responsible people of Iraq's national authority noted that the anti-government powers occupied the Mosul region and the population. Moreover, 65 Armenian families and the curate left the region. Paruyr Hakobyan assured that no human losses were recorded.
