65 Armenian families leave Mosul region in Iraq

YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS. 65 Armenian families left the Mosul region in Iraq. The Lebanese “Azdak” daily editorship informed Armenpress about it. The source informs that Paruyr Hakobyan who is among the responsible people of Iraq's national authority noted that the anti-government powers occupied the Mosul region and the population. Moreover, 65 Armenian families and the curate left the region. Paruyr Hakobyan assured that no human losses were recorded.

The Prime Minister of Iraq Nouri al-Maliki on June 10 urged the Parliament to declare an emergency state in the country. The reason is the occupation of Mosul city by DAISH group. The Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki noted during the press conference that it is important to control over the neighboring countries borders adding that Iraq needs UN support. The Prime Minister also urged the Iraqi Parliament and Ministries to deal with providing the families who left their residences with new places of settlement.
