YEREVAN, APRIL 8, ARMENPRESS: We should give the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan the status of partner if they really want to be guided by the fundamental values of our structure. The Deputy of the “Prosperous Armenia Party” Faction Naira Zohrabyan noted this at the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She reminded that such status has been only recently given to the non-recognized state Palestinian parliament.
“I would also like to remind that in the report on the Bureau’s activities once adopted by us we decided together that in all the cases when there will be for example a certain issue regarding Kosovo in the agenda of our Assembly, the representatives of that country’s Parliament can be invited to those discussions,” Zohrabyan stated as reported by Armenpress. She added that they welcomed that approach, too.
“Dear Parliament, today, in the context of those issues I would like to raise again the issue to give the Parliament of Nagorno-Karabakh the status of partner for democracy. There is no reasoned argumentation why the Parliament of Palestine can receive this status, while the Parliament of Nagorno-Karabakh cannot. Why do we avoid applying the same approach in case of Nagorno-Karabakh when we accept that during the discussions related to Kosovo the representatives of that country should be invited to those discussions?” Naira Zohrabyan underscored. She added that it would be truly fair decision.
