BBC reports on #SaveKessab movement

YEREVAN, APRIL 3, ARMENPRESS: The British BBC touched upon the history of the Armenian-populated Kessab town-village in Syria and the #SaveKessab movement, in which the famous Armenian stars have been involved. The international community is interested why Kim Kardashian, having more than 2 million followers, left several notes in Twitter on the events taking place in Syria.
The report says: “The US television star Kim Kardashian has tweeted about the crisis in Syria describing it as "heartbreaking". Kardashian, who is of Armenian descent, urged her 20 million Twitter fans to #SaveKessab - an Armenian populated village in north-west Syria. Residents of Kessab fled at the end of March as rebels took control of the village. Some images claiming to show violence there have been debunked on social media as not genuine”.
BBC asked the Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Aram Hamparian why Kim Kardashian is tweeting about Syria #SaveKessab and why she prays for the Armenians. Hamparian told that Kardashian is of Armenian origin and not hiding her roots, she has always been concerned over the Armenian victims in Syria.
Earlier the American Armenian singer Cher (Cherilyn Sarkisian), who has more than two million followers in her Twitter blog, touched upon the events, taking place in the Armenian-populated village-town of Kessab in Syria, asking to clarify what is really going on there. “Please check out what's going on in Kessab, Syria. Innocent Christians and Armenians being killed by Turks”, - wrote the singer.
Formerly it was reported that Kim Kardashian, the famous American actress and photo model of Armenian origin, made a note in her Twitter blog: “If you don't know what's going on in Kessab please Google it, its heart breaking! As an Armenian, I grew up hearing so many painful stories!” Then she made another note: “Do not let the history repeat itself”. In another note Kardashian wrote: “Praying for everyone”.
