YEREVAN, MARCH 13, ARMENPRESS: According to the First Secretary of the Chess Federation of Armenia Smbat Lputyan the chess world wants to see Aronian-Carlsen contest for the world championship.

“Naturally, we expect only a victory. Both the Armenian society and the whole world want to see Aronian-Carlsen contest. Everybody wants Levon Aronian to win in this tournament. These times require it,” Smbat Lputyan expressed such a view in a conversation with the journalists, Armenpress reports.

Today, in the first round of the Chess Candidates’ Tournament the strongest chess player of the Republic of Armenia Levon Aronian lost to the former world champion Viswanathan Anand.
