YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 19, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Armenia Gagik Beglaryan on February 19 met the British group delegation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union led by the head of the group John Whittingdale.

Press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications informed “Armenpress” that at the course of the meeting Minister Gagik Beglaryan introduced the processing of great programs “North- South Road Corridor” and “Armenia’s southern railway” to the deputies of the House of Commons and the House of Lords of Britain.

Speaking about the construction of Armenia-Iran railway the Minister stated that the program is of great strategic significance both for Armenia and neighboring countries.

 “Much work has been carried out in that direction. Technical- economic foundation of the railway construction is ready. The program will enable to connect Asia with Central Europe by the shortest and convenient way,” the Minister said.
