Moth spread of solanaceae is serious problem: Deputy Minister of Agriculture

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. The moth spread of solanaceae crops is a serious problem in Armenia against which the Armenian specialists have been carrying out large-scale activity since last year. Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Granik Petrosyan stated it at the press conference convoked on December 5. According to him, due to the measures taken in the Ararat valley this year they managed to minimize the damage of the potato moth which reached considerable proportions last year.

“We still have problems with organizing efficient measures towards the fight against tomato moth which makes difficult the fact that the vegetation of tomato and other solanaceae crops eggplant, peppers is longer, and this pest occupies larger space. We exert all the measures to prevent the spread of this pest,” Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia stated as reported by “Armenpress”.
