YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. According to Islam’s viewpoint the Armenians were subjected to Genocide in 1915. Professor at the City University of New York and Sociology Department of John Jay College Mücait Bilici stated this touching upon the perception of the Armenian Genocide issue. As reports “Armenpress”, responding the question put forward by the Istanbul-based Agos periodical, Mücait Bilici reflected upon the adversities the Armenians have to face with in 1915 and the role of the Turks and Kurds in this regard.

Among other things the Professor at the City University of New York and Sociology Department of John Jay College Mücait Bilici underscored: “I am not an historian, but studying the aforesaid historical period and being engaged in the relevant discussions, I understand that it was a genocide. Regardless the interpretation of the international law and structures, in my opinion the Armenian citizens were subjected to Genocide from the viewpoint of Islam.”
