Armenia's police chief visits injured sercivemen in hospitals

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Vladimir Gaspasyan, the head of Armenia's police visited policemen injured during the clashes organized by Shant Harutyunyan and his supporters in the Liberty Square and Mashtots Avenue on November 2013.The Cheif of Police passed his wish of fast rehabilitation to the servicemen. 8 policemen having injuries of different levels were taken to various medical institutions of Yerevan. Press secretary of the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia Anahit Haytayan informed Armenpress that two of them were taken to the hospital of St. Gregory the Enlightener who had cranial and abdominal injuries in the result of being subjected to stabbing. “6 of the 8 policemen were moved to the 3td clinical hospital,” Anahit Haytayan said. Ordinary citizens and policemen suffered in the result of the clashes organized by Shant Harutyunyan and the demonstrators in the Liberty Square. Deputy Chief of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Hunan Pogosyan also arrived at the place of the incident. The police of the Republic of Armenia informed that more than two dozen people were brought to the police department. The police also stated that any illegal action will be reacted by the strongest extension, as for the transgressors, they will be punished with all the strictness of the law. The ordinary currency of traffic in Mashtots Avenue is recovered. Armenpress reports that the Police of the Republic of Armenia managed to restore free movement of the citizens in the Liberty Square.
