Discussions at National Assembly on gas tariff to be close

YEREVAN, MAY 22, ARMENPRESS: The discussion of gas tariff to be held at the National Assembly on May 23 will be close. As Armenpress was reported by the Head of the Department for Mass Media and Public Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Gohar Poghosyan: “The discussions will be close, but if a decision is made to hold parliamentary hearings, they will be open, attended by the representatives of the mass media as well”.

On May 23 at 18:30 discussions on the gas tariff will be held at the National Assembly, headed by the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan. The discussions will be attended also by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan, the Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia Robert Nazaryan and the deputies of the National Assembly.

Armrusgazard CJSC applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia, offering to raise the current tariff for gas from 132,000 AMD to 221,000 AMD. It is suggested to raise the present price for the gas from 132,000 AMD to 221,000 AMD for the users (subscribers), who consume up to 10,000 normal cubic meter of gas monthly, VAT included. The Prime minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan sent an official letter to the Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia Robert Nazaryan, according to which the Government of Armenia will subsidize the gas tariff by 30%.
