Number of foreigners interested in Armenian massacres increased: Demoyan

YEREVAN, APRIL 19, ARMENPRESS. The number of applicants writing scientific theses or researches and turning to the Genocide Museum-Institute increases each year. This is conditioned by the regular references of the international media to the Armenian Genocide and increase of interest towards the phenomenon advancing the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. In a conversation with "Armenpress" the Director of the Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan stated that among the applicants are a lot of young men from various parts of the world. Demoyan underscored: "We were very surprised, when people from Mexico, Switzerland, Australia, Finland, and many other countries applied to us. Notwithstanding it is also surprising that there are no applicants from Russia. The Russian young men never submit application, while having at their disposal such a large Armenian Community, recourses, and opportunities." He also emphasized that the vast majority of the applicants come from foreign countries.

Among other things Hayk Demoyan noted that if not the financial difficulties, they could receive much more applications, because the interest of the foreigners is really overwhelming. Demoyan highlighted that they do not spend a single day without receiving new material from the foreign countries.
