I will never go to Turkey again. Valerie Boyer

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 26, ARMENPRESS: French MP, author of the bill criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide, Valerie Boyer told reporter of Turkish “Cihan” agency she would never visit Turkey again. She has noted that continues receiving death threats from Turkey regarding draft law criminalizing denial of Armenian Genocide that is why she will never visit the country where her life is in danger.

As reports Armenpress, Valerie Boyer said, that after the failed attempt in Constitutional Commission of France, she has already presented two draft laws to the Parliament and suggested to form commission in order to investigate the work of the French Constitutional Council.

“Even in France, I have to live under police protection. I visited Turkey for several times before, but I will never go there again, even in case Turkish government gives an assurance of safety. I will not endanger my family and me,” she said.

Valerie Boyer said threats would not keep her away from the draft laws and hoped French President Francois Hollande would keep his pre-election promise on the bill criminalizing denial of Armenian Genocide.

To the question of “Cihan” reporter on her position over Khojalu events, Boyer noted how one could trust the statements of country “which serves false information to international community with the power of petrol and money”. She also reminded Azerbaijan had considered her to be “persona non grata” for visiting Artsakh.

French deputy Boyer indicated that she was definitely against Turkey’s European Union (EU) membership. She has also said that “Turkey is not a part of the EU, neither culturally nor geographically”. Underlining that countries in the EU are linked with each other with geographical, cultural, political and historical ties, Boyer indicated that “Europe’s part was Constantinople.”
