Iraq is interested in the development of relations with Armenia. Iraqi President

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Commission on Armenian-Iraqi intergovernmental Economic cooperation Armen Gevorgyan and the delegation headed by him had a meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in Sulaymaniyah on November 8. As Armenpress was informed from the public relations department of Armenian MTA, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister transmitted Serzh Sargsyan’s message to Iraqi President and highlighted the willingness of Armenia to deepen the cooperation.

Jalal Talabani underlined that Iraq was interested in the development and deepening of the friendly relations with Armenia. He evaluated the efforts of the two sides aimed to form the interstate relations and hold its first sitting in a short period of time.

Deputy Prime Minister presented the results of the Commission’s meeting. Interlocutors referred to the demand for the creation of a legal field among the two states. Armen Gevorgyan shared with information about the agreements which had already been reached. The prospects of cooperation in energy, transport, oil and gas spheres have been highlighted.

Both sides stressed the importance of activation in trade. President of Iraq evaluated the efforts thanks to which the implementation of the agreements was possible, as well as sent his best wishes to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

Interlocutors have also discussed some regional issues presented by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister. Iraqi President spoke about Armenian community with respect and warmness.
