Outstanding astronomers to lecture in Armenian schools
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS: The Armenian Astronomical Society (ArAS) jointly with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia is scheduled to launch school astronomical lectures by the participation of outstanding astronomers. Areg Mikayelyan, Armenian Astronomical Society co-chair stated Yervant Terzian, Professor of Astronomy at Cornell University had initiated the project, Armenpress reports.
In the words of Mikayelyan, astronomical contemporary issues and its developments, the history of Armenian Astronomy, current problems of Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory of the Armenian Academy of Science, reports about great scientist Victor Hambartsumian and other prominent astrologers will be envisaged in the course of the scheduled lectures.
The lectures are set to kick off in November, covering all provinces of Armenia, as well as capital Yerevan districts and several specialized schools. Hayk Harutyunyan, director of Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory, Elena Nikoghosyan, scientific secretary, Areg Mikayelyan, Armenian Astronomical Society co-chair and other famous astrologers are among the lecturers.
