Lift fell down in a newly built building. several victims in a result (updating)
18:00, 25 October 2012YEREVAN, OCTOBER 25, ARMENPRESS: The lift fell down and smashed the people working in the lift shaft. The incident took place in the newly built building situated in Yerevan, Sasna Tsrer 2 . Referring to the Emergency Situations Service Armenpress informs that according the preliminary information two people have been injured. Rescue squad and firefighting have been dispatched to the place.
The Ambulance has hospitalized the injured to “Armenia” medical center.
At 6:15 PM Emergency Situations Service informed that the victims have been identified, Khachik Epremyan, 45, and Gevorg Safaryan, 60.
At 7:00 PM Emergency Situations Service informed that the lift, which fell down caused the death of two people and seriously damaged another two, had been “homemade”.
As Armenpress was informed it was investigated that the elevator was homemade and wasn’t registered by the Emergency Situations Service consequently hadn’t passed any needed inspection.
Information on the identity of the victims will be reported later.
