Armenian embassy receives many letters from Hungarians

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS: Armenian embassy in Hungary during the last days receives many letters from Hungarian people on occasion of extradition of Azerbaijani blood-mad Ramil Safarov. Armenpress reports that Hungarians express deep anger and strictly condemn the step of their own Government which violates international legal and moral norms. Hungarians also call not to put a sign of equality between Hungary and current Government of of the country. One of Hungarians wrote: "What did Hungarian Government is unacceptable and shameful. I want to mention that Hungary and the Government of Victor Orban are not the same".

Hungarians also call to keep Armenian-Hungarian friendship. "I beg your pardon on behalf of Hungarian nation on occasion of extradition of Azerbaijani blood-mad Ramil Safarov. I only ask Armenains to believe that many of us like Armenians and their culture. Please do not late hatred to be created between Armenian and Hungarian nations" writes another citizen. "Let me express my sympathy and sadness on occasion of extradition of Ramil Safarov who made an awful crime against your compatriot. I greatly condemn the extradition process implemented by Hungarian Government. Armenian community has always played a great role in Hungary. Let’s defend our friendship" mentioned another writer.

On February 19 of 2004 in Budapest Azerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov slayed with an ax Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan when the latter was sleeping. The two officers were taking part in English language courses in framework of NATO program in Budapest. Hungarian court sentenced Ramil Safarov to life imprisonment, without a right to be pardoned during the first 30 years in jail. On August 31 of 2012 Hungarian authorites made a decision to extradite Safarov to Azerbaijan.
