YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 2, ARMENPRESS: The People’s Republic of China will donate 88 ambulance cars to Armenia within the framework of a grant program of goods. The cars will be imported to Armenia in the first half of 2011.
Harutyun Kushkyan, RA healthcare minister, said today at a meeting with journalists that Armenia’s ambulance park is old and that ambulance cars in the provinces were produced 19-22 years ago. The minister says new ambulance cars were provided to the medical establishments of several provinces only in the recent 2 years.
Within the framework of the reforms in emergency sphere, a joint system of emergency and service calls and a joint control service will be created. The minister says the reform program is integrated and that it is impossible to reach any result only through changing the ambulance cars. He mentioned that 1.5 billion AMD was secured to the emergency service, which implies rise in salary of the workers of the sphere.
‘We focused on this sphere, as we know people are dissatisfied with it and they demand rise in quality, so we are to ensure it,’ Harutyun Kushkyan said.
