“The Choice is Yours” NGO specialists observed the Ukrainian elections

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 11, ARMENPRESS: More than 20 specialists of “The Choice is Yours” NGO observed two rounds of the Ukrainian presidential elections within the election observation mission of the “European Network of Election Monitoring Observations” (ENEMO) international organization.

An official from “The Choice is Yours” NGO told Armenpress that overall 450 short-term observers took part in the international observation mission in the Ukrainian presidential elections. They observed all the voting processes of the two rounds in about 290 electoral constituencies.

The ENEMO observations showed some improvement of the quality of organization and conduction of elections as compared with the results of the presidential elections 2004. According to the ENEMO preliminary report, the Ukrainian authorities exerted significant efforts to make elections correspond to the international standards.

ENEMO observers noted that not many cases of mass and coordinated falsifications were registered.

ENEMO is a group of 23 leading election observation NGOs from 17 countries of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
