YEREVAN, 22 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. The lights of the main Christmas tree in Armenia were lit, marking the start of the New Year’s events in Yerevan. As “ArmenPress” reports, Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan was also attending the ceremony that brought together many people who enjoyed listening to performances by famous celebrities. 

Before the lights were lit, the mayor helped one of the children in the crowd place the last toy on the Christmas tree, after which the lights of the main Christmas tree, as well as the Christmas trees and the lights on New Year’s decorations were lit in 12 districts of Yerevan.
