Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs expects change of Azerbaijan policy
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS: The forthcoming meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan can lead to progress in the negotiating process only if Azerbaijan changes its policy after the meeting. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan expressed such a viewpoint in a conversation with the journalists in the National Assembly. “The absence of significant progress in the negotiating process is conditioned by the policy of Azerbaijan, and as far as Baku has reconsidered it, we cannot expect serious progress,” Kocharyan said as reported by “Armenpress”.
Shavarsh Kocharyan noted that Azerbaijan continues to conduct racist, anti-Armenian policy, makes bellicose statements, as well as rejects all the proposals by the Minsk Group co-chairs. “Judging by the statements the president of Azerbaijan regularly makes, it is not possible to have serious expectations from the coming meeting,” deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan pointed out.
