YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 27, ARMENPRESS. The inauguration ceremony of the re-elected President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan will be held on April 9. The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan stated this during the press conference held on February 27. Among other things Hovik Abrhamyan noted that on the same day the Government will resign, citing the Constitution, in accordance with which the President appoints a new Prime Minister in ten days after accepting the Government's resignation. The Government is formatted in 20 days after the appointment of the Prime Minister.

As reports "Armenpress" in accordance with article 54 of the Constitution the President of the Republic shall accept office in conformity with the procedure prescribed by law at the special sitting of the National Assembly by swearing the following oath to the people, "Assuming the office of the President of the Republic of Armenia I swear: to fulfill the requirements of the Constitution in an unreserved manner; to respect the fundamental human and civil rights and freedoms; to ensure the protection, independence, territorial integrity and security of the Republic to the glory of the Republic of Armenia and to the welfare of the people of the Republic of Armenia."
