Woman suspected in blackmailing Sanasaryan to pay hush money to remain silent after traffic
accident

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 31, ARMENPRESS. A criminal investigation has been launched to validate reports of alleged attempted extortion of suspended Director of the State Oversight Service Davit Sanasaryan by a woman.

The General Prosecution said it had earlier sent an article published in the press titled “Sanasaryan is accusing the child’s parents in blackmail” to police for validation.

The investigation has revealed that a woman has blackmailed Sanasaryan by demanding hush money or else she would provide the media defaming information about him. The woman is the mother of the child whom Sanasaryan ran over with his car in an accident which in turn is under a separate criminal investigation.

The child’s mother is under criminal investigation for committing extortion.

Davit Sanasaryan is currently on trial on charges of official misconduct as Head of the State Oversight Service. His duties are suspended since the indictment was brought forward. He vehemently denies wrongdoing.

Earlier today authorities said Sanasaryan’s alleged involvement in the auto-pedestrian collision involving a child is also under investigation.
