YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. President Armen Sarkissian extended his condolences to Jacques Chirac’s family on the former French president’s death.

“It was with great pain and sorrow that I learnt about your family’s loss, Jacques Chirac’s death,” Sarkissian said in a telegram sent to the Chirac family.

“Being a remarkable politician and personality, Jacques Chirac was an example of patriotism, devotion, unbending spirit, persistence and greatest responsibility with his activities. His death is a great loss for France, whom he had dedicated his life to.

Jacques Chirac’s name and work will always remain in our memory and hearts as a tender friend of Armenia and the Armenian people.

At this moment of deep sorrow remember that you are not alone, and accept my heartfelt condolences to your family,” the Armenian president said in the letter.

Former President of France Jacques Chirac died at the age of 86 on September 26, 2019.
