Armenia inbound tourism soars

YEREVAN, AUGUST 8, ARMENPRESS. The number of visiting tourists in Armenia grew significantly during the first six months of 2019, according to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Particularly, the number of tourists from Germany grew 59,5%, from China – 53,5%, from the Netherlands – 34,9%, from Switzerland – 30%, from the United Arab Emirates – 29,7%, from Greece – 29%, from Italy – 24,4%, from the UK – 22,9%, from Japan – 22,2%, from Russia – 19%, from Sweden – 19%, from the United States – 15% and from France 13%.

“In general we have a 12,8% tourism growth during the semester. According to Central Bank estimates this year tourists spent 120,000,000 dollars more in Armenia than last year. Each citizen of Armenia can present a bid to have their share from this money. I would also like to remind how important it is to render duly services to tourists in order for them to leave the country with good impressions and promote our country and its image around the world,” Pashinyan wrote on Facebook.
