YEREVAN, MARCH 12, ARMENPRESS. The Investigative Committee (IC) of Armenia has charged the former Mayor of Hrazdan Aram Danielyan with embezzlement, IC spokesperson Naira Harutyunyan told ARMENPRESS.

“Danielyan is charged with grand embezzlement committed by an organized group. There are eight other suspects in this case,” she said, adding that those accused have been banned from leaving the country.

Authorities say Danielyan has embezzled more than 100,000,000 drams in public funds during his tenure as mayor. In late February he was arrested, and shortly afterwards released when he paid back and recovered the entire damages.
