Foreign ministers of Armenia and Malta attach importance to Armenia-EU new agreement

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian met with Malta’s minister for foreign affairs and trade promotion Carmelo Abela in Vienna on the sidelines of the 24th OSCE Ministerial Council, the foreign ministry told Armenpress.

At the meeting the Armenian FM congratulated Carmelo Abela on his appointment and expressed hope that the bilateral mutual partnership will be boosted by the joint efforts.

The ministers exchanged views on the upcoming steps aimed at expanding the bilateral cooperation. In this context they attached importance to the formation of legal framework, holding consultations between the ministries, as well as boosting the inter-parliamentary ties.

The officials also discussed the opportunities to develop the commercial cooperation and promote the culture exchange.

They also attached importance to the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement signed between Armenia and the EU which is a good base for the cooperation between Armenia and the EU member states.

At the end of the meeting the Armenian and Maltese ministers signed the cooperation agreement in the field of culture between the governments of Armenia and Malta.
