Armenia’s defense minister holds meeting with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in Yerevan
YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s defense minister Vigen Sargsyan held a meeting on June 10 with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Richard Hoagland, Igor Popov and Stephane Visconti, as well as the personal representative of the OSCE chairperson in office Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.
The defense ministry told ARMENPRESS the sides discussed the situation around the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, as well as the situation in both the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact and the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border, and the developments since the last meeting with the Co-Chairs in the same format.
The Armenian defense minister drew the attention of the Ambassadors on the latest incidents in the frontline, and welcomed the targeted response of the Co-Chairs over them.
As an important guarantee of the productivity of negotiations on the conflict settlement, Vigen Sargsyan emphasized the necessity of introducing the frontline situation monitoring the incident investigative mechanisms in accordance to the Vienna and St. Petersburg summit agreements, and thereby the formation of an atmosphere of mutual trust.
