Armenia will impose limitations on the use of electronic cigarettes

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, ARMENPRESS. Number of Armenian smokers will decline by 30% during 5-7 years. “Armenpress” reports Health Minister of Armenia Levon Altunyan told during a Facebook press conference aired by “Azatutyun” radio (Radio Liberty Armenia) that smoking in public places was banned back in 2004, but this ban was poorly implemented. “Since tumor-based illnesses in Armenia is rather alarming we have started to struggle against smoking by all the measures effectively applied worldwide”, the Minister said.

According to Altunyan, e-cigarettes are also dangerous for health, therefore bans and limitations for this type of cigarettes will also be applied. “I think the best way to struggle against smoking is increasing cigarette prices”, the Minister added.
