YEREVAN, MAY 27, ARMENPRESS. The EU encourages the formation of the corruption prevention agency on the basis of the ethics commission of high ranking officials and highlights the agency’s independence, Ambassador Piotr Switalski, head of the EU delegation to Armenia, told reporters.

According to him, the EU believes that the formation of this agency is already a good development.

“The experience of other countries proves that this kind of an agency can operate efficiently if it is independence and isn’t led by someone”, he said, adding that the EU will speak about the independence of this agency after it begins to operate.

The establishment of the corruption prevention agency was earlier announced by PM Karapetyan.
