Lake Sevan’s water level hits record high for last half century

YEREVAN, MAY 24, ARMENPRESS. The water level of the Lake Sevan continues to rise, hitting record high for the last 55 years. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, Lake Sevan’s was 1900 meters and 84 centimeters above the sea level by May 23, 2017, which is by 24 centimeters higher against the same period of 2016.
According to the information received from the Agriculture and Environment Department of the Governorate of Gegharkunik Province, the current water level of Sevan surpasses the level recorded in 1962 by 4 centimeters.
