Armenian MP says addressed statements of OSCE MG Co-Chairs are necessity
15:15, 23 May 2017YEREVAN, MAY 23, ARMENPRESS. RPA faction MP Khosrov Harutyunyan welcomes the latest statement of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs addressed to Azerbaijan in connection with escalation of the situation in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact, reports Armenpress.
In a meeting with reporters on May 23, MP Harutyunyan said the addressed accusation on Azerbaijan is connected with the current situation in Syria.
“Given how unpredictable is the situation in Syria, even the vague prospect of military operations in the region is considered very dangerous. That’s why the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs put aside the unaddressed statements and mentioned the name of the side which violates the ceasefire regime”, the MP said.
He doubts that at the moment it is possible to discuss something with the Azerbaijani leadership considering their behavior, however, the lawmaker highlighted that such addressed statements by the Minsk Group are necessary. According to him, the international community must form tougher response mechanisms to escalation of the situation in line of contact.
