YEREVAN, MAY 17, ARMENPRESS. The Republican Party of Armenia will nominate the candidacy of Ara Babloyan for the President of the National Assembly, “Armenpress” reports RPA spokesperson, Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov told the reporters after the Executive Body meeting of the party.

“Arpine Hovhannisyan’s and my candidacies will be nominated for the post of the Deputy Presidents of the National Assembly. The parliamentary faction of the party will be led by Vahram Baghdasaryan. The Secretary of the faction will be Gagik Melikyan” Sharmazanov said.

He informed that on May 18 the Republican faction will submit a bill proposing to cut the number of the standing committees from 12 to 9.

Sharmazanov also reminded that the current Cabinet of the country will resign on May 18, following which the RPA will nominate Karen Karapetyan’s candidacy to the post of the Prime Minister.
