YEREVAN, MAY 3, ARMENPRESS. A consultation was held in the Government led by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan during which the prospects of Armenia’s digital development strategy, as well as the upcoming measures and steps on this path were discussed, press service of the Government told Armenpress.

It was reported that already a working group has been formed based on the statement adopted by the heads of EAEU states, and the results of its activity will be presented to the heads of EAEU governments on May 26.

In this context, issues related to defining priorities over digitization in various spheres, formation of respective structures, institutions for the implementation of digital development strategy, EAEU digital agenda, goals, major directions and expected targeted figures until 2025 were discussed.

“This is very important, regardless of EAEU program, we will launch this step. For instance, we will solve a number of issues to increase the efficiency by digitizing the community budget, garbage collection, other services in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development. The digitization will certainly result in additional businesses, increase of capabilities”, the PM said, adding that each agency must know its digitization agenda.

Taking into account Armenia’s digital development vision, National Management Board supporting the Digital Development will be established led by the PM.
