Armenian, Russian MFAs prepare next meeting of Presidents of two countries

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 22, ARMENPRESS. The Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Russia are preparing the regular meeting of the Presidents of the two states, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after the meeting with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian in Moscow on February 22, reports “Armenpress”.

“The discussions with Mr. Nalbandian were constructive, comprehensive and clear. We have discussed the entire circle of bilateral relations and discussed in-detail the agreements on coordinating our actions in the international structures. The Armenian-Russian cooperation continues developing at various sectors. Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan’s recent visit to Russia gave an additional impetus to this cooperation, we prepare the regular meeting of the Presidents of the two countries”, Lavrov said.

He added that the trade turnover between Armenia and Russia is at the highest level, recalling that it comprised over 1 billion USD based on the figures of the last year. Lavrov highlighted the fact that 40% of the investment of foreign capital in Armenia accounts for Russia.

Sergey Lavrov expressed satisfaction that the change in the agreement on visa-free regime visits between Armenia and Russia comes into force on February 23, according to which Russian citizens can visit Armenia with internal passports.
