YEREVAN, JANUARY 16, ARMENPRESS. A freshman of the Yerevan State University has been charged for murdering YSU student V. Muradyan and severely wounding another student R. Martirosyan, the Investigative Committee told ARMENPRESS.

Earlier on January 11 first responders discovered the body of 19 year old Vahe Muradyan in the backyard of a residential building in downtown Yerevan. 18 year old Raffi Martirosyan had been hospitalized with stabbing wounds.

The Investigative Committee’s Yerevan department launched a criminal case on the incident.

Law enforcement agencies uncovered the circumstances which led to the fatal incident. An altercation had occurred, where V. Muradyan sustained deadly injuries and R. Martirosyan suffered serious wounds. The perpetrators were identified and apprehended.

The YSU freshman was charged with murder and remanded in custody.

A folding knife was found by law enforcement agencies in the apartment of the suspect, which according to his testimony is the murder weapon.

Forensic expertise is underway.
