visits the ceremony

YEREVAN, JANUARY 12, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan attended the official opening ceremony of the Center of Strategic Initiatives of the Armenian Government on January 12.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Government of Armenia, greeting the present and highlighting the creation of the Center of Strategic Initiatives, the PM noted that the idea of the Center was among the key targets of the Cabinet’s Action Plan which will guide the long-term strategy of Armenia’s economic development. The Head of the Executive stressed that the Center is established based on the principle of public-private cooperation, where the private sector representatives can bring proposals of reforms and strategies. “By public-private cooperation we expect to understand what we have to do to record economic growth, attract investors, ensure long-term development and effective use of our potentials.  The number of representatives of the private sector exceeds the number of state officials in the Board of Trustees, and we expect and will be very glad if the best specialists of the Diaspora and foreign countries who are not indifferent and will express desire to participate in the works of the Center are involved in this platform”, Karen Karapetyan said, adding that the Center will be led by his advisor Aleksandr Khachaturyan.

Executive Director of the Center of Strategic Initiatives, advisor to the Prime Minister of Armenia Aleksandr Khachaturyan noted that the Center has put in front of it major tasks and no efforts will be spared for the proper implementation of all the works. He informed that the Center has been financed from different sources, such as the state budget, international organizations, and the private sector donations, while Premier Karapetyan was the first to make a donation.
