YEREVAN, DECEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross Azerbaijan office visited Arsen Baghdasaryan – a prisoner held in Azerbaijan for trespassing the Azerbaijani border, APA reports.

The ICRC mediated information exchange between Baghdasaryan and his family.

Citizen of Nagorno Karabakh Arsen Baghdasaryan had been captured on December 26, 2014. An Azerbaijani court sentenced Baghdasaryan to 15 years imprisonment for alleged sabotage actions.

Earlier the Azerbaijani side reported that the NKR Defense Army had carried out an attempted sabotage action in the direction of Aghdam, during which Arsen Baghdasaryan was arrested. The NKR defense ministry denied these reports, saying Arsen Baghdasaryan – being a serviceman of the Defense Army – had regularly deserted his deployment location (AWOL), for which he was temporarily suspended from service.
