Armenian Premier points out IT sector as key driver for economic development

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan believes IT sector can become the forerunner of the Armenian economy, “Armenpress” reports the Armenian Premier told in a meeting with heads of media outlets.
“The IT sector can assume the function of economic driver. I think we also have much to do in the sphere of agriculture. Here we can consider the experience of those countries which have a successful agricultural economy”, the PM said.
He also noted that the spheres of mining, energy, tourism, and jewelry industry are promising branches of economy. “But this does not mean that we will neglect other directions”, Karen Karapetyan said.
