Government aims at increasing GDP by 3.2% in 2017

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 31, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian Government intends to ensure a 3.2% growth in GDP for 2017, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said during parliamentary debates on the state budget draft.

“Taking into consideration the economic environment, it will take significant efforts for us to reach the mentioned indicator, however we will do everything to ensure it. The implementation of tax-budgetary policy should be transparent and public, understandable for each tax-payer and individual. Our approach is clear, the budgetary revenues paid by tax payers should be used maximally efficient and targeted, and the results should be visible for the society”, the PM said.

The Government has based the budget on forecasts which don’t press the economy and increase the tax-GDP ratio.

“The evaluations of the tax revenue level were based on approaches in compliance with the economic realities, and in terms of expenditures – restrictive approaches”, the PM said.
